Sharks forward Joe Thornton had four first-period points, allowing San Jose to cruise to a 5-2 victory over the Maple Leafs at HP Pavilion on Tuesday evening. Toronto was simply outmatched by the size and skill of the Sharks forwards, falling behind 2-0 by the 6:35 mark of the opening period.
